Evergreen Solar Cedar Series

The patented string ribbon technology is used to make the Evergreen Solar Cedar Series where the solar module uses half as much silicon used by other manufacturers of solar modules. Interestingly, the string ribbon technology is an alternative emerging technology, considered to be one of the most environment friendly solar module manufacturing processes. With a nominal voltage output of 12 volts, these modules are available in a wide range of wattages. The open circuit voltage is nearly 20 volts where the voltage at maximum power situation is 17. Though manufacturing defects are unheard of, the Evergreen Solar Cedar Series carry a 25 year warranty.

 Though there have been customers who have commented on the wrinkled look of the cells and the irregular spacing and alignment of the cells, caused as an effect of the string ribbon technology, these in no way impacts the overall performance and efficiency of the module. Of course, the modules are usually placed on rooftops, where even the most ‘perfect looks seeking’ user would not be able to see.

Evergreen is scheduled to phase out the old 12/24V NKP line of modules with the field configurable junction box with the new GDK line.  These new line 12V modules will have slim sealed junction boxes with built in MC Connectors which can make any installation a cake walk.
